| ABOUT EMILIE |
| Emilie is a
Houston native and 1995 graduate of Johns Hopkins
University in Baltimore, Maryland. I am a project
manager working for Reliant Energy. I enjoy playing
sports, rollerblading, skiing, and cooking. |

| ABOUT ADAM |
| Adam is, as
he puts it, "Tall, dark, and handsome," and
most of that is true. He is also a Houston native, and
1996 graduate of Texas A&M University (whoop!) in
Chemical Engineering. He is currently a process
control consultant for ICON, Inc. He spends his free
time planning weddings, interior designing, and
arranging flowers (so joking!). |

| HOW WE MET |
| We met
playing flag football at St. John Vianney Church. I
thought she was dating someone and she thought I was
dating someone, so we just played as teammates. Until
the day after her mother broke her ankle.... Emilie
had a bear of a day and after work went to Derek and
Susan Schweizerhof's for her weekly walk with Susan. I
happened to be over playing hookey. We sat down had a
beer and she flirted with me. I called Susan that week
to get her number. Called her up and asked her out. We
went out to eat at a small Italian resturant where we
sat and talked over a carafe of wine. We were the last
people there and they kicked us out after putting up
all the other tables. We then went to Cosmos Cafe to
listen to some live music and enjoy some more
conversation because we weren't ready to go home quite
yet. Someone called my cell phone as we were pulling
into the cafe and to get me off the phone she stepped
up and planted a big ol' kiss on my smacker. I was
shocked and immediatly got off the phone and followed
her into Cosmos with little stars coming out of my
eyes. And the rest is history in the making..... |

| WHEN
WE GOT ENGAGED |
| November
19, 2001 |

| HOW IT HAPPENED |
| Adam
secretly had morning coffee with Dr. Salama where he
made his intentions known. The Salamas welcomed him
into their family. After work that Monday, Adam and
Emilie went for a walk in the cool November
breeze....(Emilie gets to finish the story) After an
hour of walking and talking about the approaching
holidays, Adam pulled me off the path, to avoid being
run over by mountain bikers. He gave me a hug to let
me know that the holidays would always be special for
us, and told me he had one thing to ask me. Before I
knew what was happening, he dropped down on one knee
and asked me to marry him. I started to cry, and amid
all the confusion, shouted "YES!" We
meandered back to the parking lot and went back to my
parents to celebrate over a bowl of chicken soup. |
